GATEWAY PRESCHOOL ACADEMY LEADERSHIP

Amanda has been a member of Gateway Community Church for 14 years. She has served throughout different ministries at Gateway over the years, such as children’s ministry, women’s ministry, preteen ministry and currently leads a Connect Group along side her husband, Scott. She has a passion for Christ, a love for kids and places strong value on a Christ-centered early childhood education.
 
Amanda grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from Mayde Creek High School in 1999. She worked as a preschool Sunday school teacher in high school at Second Baptist Church; which led her to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. Amanda attended Texas A&M University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Science with an emphasis in education grades Pre-k through 4th grade. After graduating in 2003, she moved to Dallas, Texas and taught for 5 years in Allen ISD. During her years as an educator, she earned her master’s degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce. After her first son was born, the Lord changed her heart and she became a stay at home mom. In 2013, she began working for Texas A&M University as a mentor to secondary math and science teachers, as well as conducting research for their education department.
 
Amanda has been married to Scott since 2005. They have two sons, Barrett and Bennett. She enjoys cooking, spending time with her family, traveling and watching the boys play sports.   Amanda's favorite verse is,  "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20.

GATEWAY PRESCHOOL ACADEMY TEACHERS

Our teaching staff is comprised of experienced and loving Christian adults who love children, are passionate about making a difference in the life of each child and are dedicated to planting seeds of faith in the minds and hearts of young preschoolers. Our program will provide opportunities for spiritual growth through Bible teaching and guide children in strong academics.  Our hope is that these steps will one day lead a child to make the biggest decision of their lives, to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and follow Him in faith.

Gateway Preschool Academy will always pride itself in hiring qualified teachers who have extensive experience in working with preschool age children. Teachers will have a degree/certificate in early childhood education or equivalent life work experience of at least 2 years. Each teacher will be required to have a firm knowledge of child development and be a Christian.
